So, you're new here, are you? Well first of all, welcome to Temporal Rift!! This is a truly unique mudding experience and one we hope you'll enjoy for a long time. Please remember, Temporal Rift is an adult oriented mud, so you may hear language or conversations not suitable for children or those who are easily offended.
Your new character loads with all the leveling gear you need. It's the best choice for you through level 61, when you can choose uniques that enhance your stats to your taste (see 'help unique'). The newbie gear will max your stats as well as give you a considerable boost to your HP/mana/movement.
If an immortal is on, you may receive a newbie pack with some food and a drinking vessel of some sort to get you started. You can also buy cheese from the Questmaster (S,W of healer/recall). This has some of the highest food value in the game. In other words, it keeps you full longer than most other food items in the game.
